We are Team CEG Motorsports, the SAE Collegiate club of College of Engineering, Guindy. Every year, we embark on a journey to design and fabricate an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) that not only competes with teams from across India, but also sets a benchmark. Our primary goal is to apply the engineering theories we learn and gain invaluable knowledge and experience throughout the process.
With 16 years of active participation in the BAJA SAE event, we have consistently ranked among the top teams, showcasing our exceptional capabilities. In the previous year, our outstanding performance across all competition categories placed us in a highly competitive position.
Each year, we embrace innovative ideas and welcome fresh minds, carefully selecting and nurturing a dedicated and talented team. We are driven by a shared passion, constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible. With unwavering determination, Team CEG Motorsports continues to leave a lasting legacy in our pursuit of excellence.
College of Engineering Guindy was established in May of 1794, as a School of Survey with one student in a building near Fort St. George. Founded by Michael Topping, the school became the Civil Engineering School in 1858. Subsequently, CEG was established as a college in 1859 under the Madras University. Then it was established as College Of Engineering with inclusion of Mechanical Engineering course.
Now it is successfully running as a great engineering college with many courses in it. CEG was ranked 12 among the engineering colleges in India by Outlook India in 2019. It has been a platform for many successful engineers, leaders and others.
The BAJA SAE series is an event for undergraduate engineering students all over the world, organised by the Society of Automotive Engineers, USA. The event was started as mini-BAJA in 1976 at University of Carolina, that spreaded through six countries, USA, Mexico, South Africa, Korea, Brazil and India. The participants have to design, fabricate and validate a one seated four wheeled off road vehicle for the event. The 3-day test is consisting of checking the vehicle's sound engineering practices that have gone into it, the agility of the vehicle in terms of gradeability, speed, acceleration and maneuverability characteristics and finally the vehicle’s endurance in that back breaking durability test. The team which has an overall highest score will be crowned as winners.
We are excited to start our push toward the next event, eBAJA SAE INDIA 2025
