The braking system is an important aspect of the off-road vehicle that student teams design and build. The team focus on the design and development of individual braking components such as calipers, and pedal assemblies. We utilize engineering principles and computer-aided design (CAD) software to create detailed designs, perform structural analysis, and ensure proper integration with other vehicle systems. We ensure the proper pressure distribution of the hydraulic system, considering some factors such as temperature, and reliability of the components.


A catalytic converter with Cu/Zn/Al as the catalyst helps in significantly reducing the emissions of hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, and carbon monoxide from the vehicle's exhaust, promoting cleaner and more environmentally friendly operation. We design and perform CFD analysis.. The Cu/Zn/Al catalyst consists of copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), and aluminum (Al) supported on a ceramic or metallic substrate Three-Way Conversion: The catalytic converter with Cu/Zn/Al catalyst is designed to perform a three-way conversion, simultaneously addressing the reduction of NOx, oxidation of CO, and oxidation of HC. This enables the converter to effectively control multiple types of pollutants generated by the engine combustion process.
