VEDHA VARSHINI

BE-Mechanical (2021-25) | Captain @ CEG Motorsports

A curious Mechanical Engineering student passionate about designing efficient and sustainable solution. I constantly update my skills to keep up with industry trends. I thrive on working with diverse teams to innovate and solve problems together. I believe that the best solutions come from harnessing different perspectives and expertise.

My Works

Some of My Highlights

BAJA ATV STEERING SYSTEM

The Steering system of the off-road vehicle is responsible for controlling the direction and maneuverability. The design, development, and integration of the Steering system are the major phases. We execute various tests, including Steering response evaluations, turning radius measurements, and durability guarantees to design an efficient Steering system. We coordinate with other subsystems, such as the Suspension, Chassis, and Powertrain, to ensure proper fitment, clearances, and optimal weight distribution.

INTERN AT CATERPILLAR

As an intern in the CORE ENGINE STRUCTURES department, I worked on Finite Element Analysis for engine components. I also created automation scripts using Python and Tcl to improve data processing and analysis. This experience boosted my technical skills and understanding of engineering and automation.

INTERN AT NIWE

During my internship, I focused on wind turbine design using tools such as TurbSim, NRELFAST, WT_PERF code and PDAP (Performance Data Analysis Program). As an intern in Measurements and Testing Department I gained hands-on experience with simulations, performance evaluations, and post-processing data, which deepened my passion for sustainable energy.

GO GREEN

The project focused on providing a low cost Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 as a catalyst to reduce the CO and HC emissions by 80% to increase the efficiency of the Engine.

LUBRICANT FOR LOW SPEED MACHINING

The project focused on the usage of used cooking oil as lubricant. The validation was done by conducting various test in lab like viscosity.

ANGULAR FIXTURE

The project involved the design and manufacturing of a variable angular fixture capable of welding tubes at angles ranging from 0 to 45 degrees. This fixture was engineered to accommodate various tube diameters and ensure precise angular adjustments for consistent weld quality.
